Membership
What is the Early Bird Pass?
It's how you reserve your All-Access membership before we open. You pay $129 today, and it's applied directly to your first month. Your membership begins the day we open, and you keep the $129/mo rate for as long as you're a member. Only 50 Early Bird passes are offered at this price.
What happened to Founding Memberships?
All 50 Founding Memberships are sold out. Thank you, Vashon! Early Bird is the next tier: All-Access for $129/mo, locked in for as long as you're a member (regularly $199/mo). When the Early Bird passes are gone, the rate steps up to $149, then $199/mo.
I'm already a Founding Member. Does anything change?
Nope. Your $99/mo rate is locked in for as long as you're a member. Before we open, we'll send you an invite to set up your account in our booking system, with your deposit already credited.
What's included in All-Access?
Everything: the full outdoor circuit (saunas and cold plunge) plus the full indoor experience (red light therapy lounge, salt cave, and VIP lounge). You also get a Rain Society towel, 20% off retail, priority booking, and one buddy pass a month.
Are there other membership options?
Yes. Outdoor Escape and Indoor Escape memberships are $69/mo each. Prefer to drop in? Outdoor or Indoor day passes are $49, and the Combined Day Pass (outdoor + indoor, same visit) is $75.
Can I give a membership as a gift?
Yes! Choose "As a gift" when you reserve your Early Bird pass. We'll send you a certificate to print or forward, and we'll reach out to them before we open to get them set up.
When does billing start, and can I cancel?
Your $129 Early Bird payment covers your first month. Monthly billing begins after that and auto-renews. Once booking is live, you can cancel anytime.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes. All-Access members get one buddy pass a month, and drop-ins are open to members' guests.
The Experience
What is contrast therapy?
It's the ritual of moving between heat and cold: time in the sauna, a cold plunge, then rest, repeated a few rounds. People have been doing it for centuries to relax, recover, and feel more alive. We just think it's better with neighbors on the bench beside you.
Tell me about the saunas.
We have three large LIT METHOD saunas, each set to its own temperature up to 220°F, so you can find the heat that's right for you. They're built with Thermo Aspen wood inside and aerospace-grade aluminum outside, with dual heat: medical-grade red light and a traditional HUUM stone heater in every one.
I'm nervous about the cold plunge. Is it for me?
Absolutely. Our stainless steel, chemical-free plunges run at varying temperatures (as low as 37°F), so you can start gentle and find the cold that's right for your body. There's no wrong way to begin. Even a few seconds counts.
How do you keep the plunge water clean?
Our powerful UVC LED filtration system keeps every plunge clean with no harsh chemicals needed.
What are the benefits?
People turn to contrast therapy for faster muscle recovery, better circulation, less inflammation, a boosted mood, and a clearer head. Plus the simple joy of warming up with friends on a rainy island day.
How long should I stay in the cold plunge?
Start with about 30 seconds and work up gradually. Most people settle in around 2–3 minutes. Listen to your body; there's no prize for staying in longest.
How often should I come?
Two to four sessions a week is a great rhythm for most people, though some members love making it a daily ritual.
What's indoors?
A red light therapy lounge with six private and shared spaces, a temperature-controlled Himalayan salt cave powered by a Halogenerator, and a VIP lounge for quiet recovery.
Do I need experience?
Not at all. First-timers are welcome, and our staff are always happy to walk you through your first round.
Visiting
When do you open?
We're opening this fall on Vashon Island. Members and our email list will hear the date first.
Where are you located?
17205 Vashon Hwy SW, Suite D1, Vashon Island, WA 98070, in Vashon Village. Get directions.
What are your hours?
We'll share our hours before we open. Members and our email list will be the first to know.
Are swimsuits required?
Yes. Swimsuits are required throughout The Rain Society, indoors and out.
Can I bring my phone?
This is a place to relax and restore, so we encourage everyone to leave their phones in the lockers. Give yourself the gift of being fully present, and let your neighbors do the same.
Do you host private events?
We'd love to! For private event bookings, reach out to Leslee at leslee@therainsociety.com.
How do I book?
Online booking opens at launch. Want in before then? Reserve an Early Bird pass for $129, applied to your first month, and lock in that rate for as long as you're a member.
Can I drop in without a membership?
Yes! Day guests are welcome. We don't take walk-ins, so just book an open time slot on our website and pay the day rate: $49 for Outdoor or Indoor, or $75 for the Combined Day Pass. Coming more than twice a month? A membership is the better deal.
What should I bring?
Your swimsuit, a towel and/or robe, a water bottle, and flip-flops or sandals. Forgot your towel? We'll have towels available for purchase. And since we're open in every season, a warm layer for between rounds is never a bad idea. Rain included.
Health & Policies
Is there an age requirement?
Guests must be 18 or older.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Memberships and sessions may be eligible for pre-tax dollars through TrueMed. Savings depend on your federal and state tax bracket, averaging around 30% for qualified customers.
